Virgin River Season 6: Full Cast List and New Faces to Look Forward to

Virgin River season 6, the sixth installment of the romantic drama series, was renewed for 10 episodes in May 2023. The Netflix series premiered its first season on December 6, 2019, and released its subsequent seasons over the next four years. The show is inspired by Robyn Carr’s series of romance novels of the same name.

The story revolves around the professional and romantic life of the nurse practitioner, Mel Monroe, who starts her life over in the quaint town of Virgin River. She falls in love with the local bar owner Jack Sheridan and forms loving, cherished bonds with the people of her community.

The official logline of Virgin River, as per Netflix, reads:

“Searching for a fresh start, a nurse practitioner moves from LA to a remote northern California town and is surprised by what – and who – she finds.”

1) Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe

Mel Monroe is a Los Angeles-based nurse practitioner and midwife who moves to Virgin River and falls in love with the town’s bar owner, Jack Sheridan.

Alexandra Breckenridge has worked predominantly on television and starred in shows like Dirt, The Ex List, Save Me and This Is Us, among others.

2) Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan

Jack Sheridan is the owner and bartender of the town’s local bar called Jack’s Bar. He is a former U.S. Marine with severe PTSD and is Mel’s love interest on the show.

Martin Henderson is a New Zealand actor who got his big break starring as Stuart Neilson in the New Zealand soap opera, Shortland Street.

In the United States, he has played Dr. Ben Keeton in the medical drama series Off the Map and Dr. Nathan Riggs in the long-running medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy. Additionally, his most prominent film roles include The Ring, Little Fish, Bride and Prejudice, etc.

3) Colin Lawrence as John ‘Preacher’ Middleton

Preacher is one of Jack’s closest friends from the Marine and works as a chef at his bar. He gets romantically involved with Paige Lassiter and later, begins a relationship with the firefighter Kaia Bryant in Virgin River season 6.
The English-Canadian actor Colin Lawrence has appeared in small roles in movies like Fantastic Four, Fifty Shades Darker, Hollow Man 2, etc. Moreover, his television roles include The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, Smallville, The Dark Angel and Battlestar Galactica, to name a few.

4) TimMatheson as Vernon ‘Doc’ Mullins

Vernon Mullins is the town’s local physician and is married to the mayor, Hope McCrea. He and Mel get off to a rocky start in season 1, but the two gradually become close as the show progesses.

Tim Matheson is best remembered for his role as Vice President John Hoynes in NBC’s award-winning series, The West Wing. He also gained popularity by starring in the comedy film National Lampoon’s Animal House and the 1970s hit series, Bonanza.

5) Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea

Hope McCrea is the mayor of Virgin River and wife of the town’s local physician, Vernon Mullins.

Annette O’Toole has enjoyed a decades-long career in Hollywood as an actress, singer, and songwriter. Her film credits include Superman III, Cross My Heart, The Incoherents, A Futile and Stupid Gesture, etc.
