Netflix’s beloved small-town romance Virgin River is showing no signs of slowing down. The streamer has officially renewed the hit drama for Season 8, just days after production wrapped on the upcoming seventh season.
The renewal makes Virgin River the longest-running scripted series in Netflix history, surpassing fan-favorite shows like Grace and Frankie and Orange Is the New Black. With the upcoming season, the series will continue its run with another 10-episode installment.
Starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, the series has built a devoted audience thanks to its heartfelt storytelling and comforting tone. Based on Robyn Carr’s bestselling novels, the drama centers on nurse practitioner Mel Monroe, who relocates to the quiet town of Virgin River in search of a fresh start.
The show has also proven to be a consistent ratings performer. Since Netflix introduced its Global Top 10 lists in 2021, Virgin River has appeared 30 times, generating more than 140 million views worldwide.
With Season 7 expected to premiere in late 2025 or early 2026, fans can already look forward to even more romance and drama in the charming California town.
