Virgin River fans ‘work out’ major Mike and Brie split twist with glaring season 7 clue

Virgin River enthusiasts are abuzz with theories that one of the beloved couples might be heading for splitsville in the upcoming seventh season.

The Netflix sensation, which saw its thrilling sixth season finale last year, left viewers swooning over Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) idyllic yet dramatic wedding.

Amidst the nuptials, Mel had an emotional reunion with her biological father, Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), while Jack’s sister Brie (Zibby Allen) found herself entangled in a love triangle involving her troubled ex Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and new flame Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini).

Brie ended things with Brady due to his deceit about his criminal past and embarked on a romance with detective Mike, as Brady got involved with local Lark (Elise Gatien).

The plot took another twist when Brady learnt that Lark was conspiring with Jimmy (Ian Tracey) to dupe him, and amidst this chaos, Mike seized the moment to propose at Mel and Jack’s wedding.

Adding fuel to the fire, Brie and Brady had previously shared a clandestine tryst, leading legions of fans to believe they’re bound to rekindle their passion in the next instalment.

Avid watchers have now unearthed a telling sign that Mike and Brie’s relationship is doomed, thanks to a fresh face joining the cast for season seven.

One eagle-eyed fan speculated on Reddit: “Brady will ask for Brie and Mike’s help to go after Lark.

“The lawyer going after Doc (Tim Matheson) and Mike will get close (from what I’ve read they knew each other from the past and she is a love interest).

“Mike sees how Brady and Brie interact constantly and realize he always comes second so breaks it off with her (who may initially say yes to the proposal).”

While ardent admirers of Virgin River are almost convinced that Brie will agree to Mike’s romantic proposition, the entrance of Sara Canning as Victoria—a medical board investigator—could cause a major disruption.

The official character outline, disclosed in March, proclaims: “Sara Canning joins the cast as ex-cop Victoria, who was shot in the line of duty and now works for the state medical board as an investigator.

“Victoria comes to Virgin River to look into Doc’s practice but runs into a friend she wouldn’t mind catching up with … or maybe even pursuing

Although producers are tight-lipped, it’s hinted that the ‘friend’ mentioned is likely to be Mike, who previously collaborated with Victoria before her career-altering incident.

All eyes are on season seven to see whether Brie and Brady’s relationship will withstand the situation when Mike’s former colleague—and potential flame—arrives in town.
