Virgin River Fans Pitch Heartwarming Stargate Reunion for Muriel in Season 7

A Virgin River fan has proposed an unexpected reunion next season that’s actually more likely than you might imagine

Virgin River features many TV legends in its ensemble cast, but the upcoming seventh season could introduce yet another icon.

Fans of the hit Netflix drama, which follows newcomer Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and her love story with local bar owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), are waiting with baited breath for the seventh season.

In the meantime, there have already been plenty of theories and speculation for what might happen after the disappearance of Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) during Mel and Jack’s wedding.

One viewer recently took to Reddit to suggest a surprise addition to the cast which would double as a touching reunion for former Stargate SG-1 star Teryl Rothery, the actress behind Muriel St. Claire.

“Anyone have any particular actors they’d like to see guest star on the show for whatever reason?” the post began.

“This is purely self-indulgent on my part but since I grew up as a huge Stargate fan I’d love to see Amanda Tapping (Sam Carter) solely to get an onscreen reunion with Teryl Rothery since they were both on SG-1 together lol.

“Afaik they’re good friends irl too, so I think it’d be cute if they got a bit meta with it and had AT play some old actor friend of Muriel’s who visits town for a few episodes.”

Muriel’s recent storylines have been devastating for both her and her loved ones as the former actress was diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing treatment in season six.

She had the support of a new romantic relationship with Dr Cameron Hayek (Mark Ghanimé), but unfortunately he broke things off with her to reconcile with his former fiancée.

Ghanimé is confirmed not to be returning as a series regular in season seven, leaving a huge gap in Muriel’s ongoing narrative.

Once again in need of a shoulder to cry on, what could be more comforting than the return of Muriel’s old friend – or the introduction of a new one – played by a familiar face?

Not only are the pair still close, but Tapping even lives in Vancouver, where Virgin River is filmed.

Making a flying visit for a brief guest spot or even staying on board as a recurring character should be no problem for the Stargate icon, who is showing no signs of stopping her acting career any time soon.

Mel actress Breckenridge recently confirmed filming for the seventh season will be completed “soon”, so more additions to the cast could be announced over the coming weeks.

Could there be an unexpected sci-fi reunion on the next season of Netflix’s hit small-town romance? Keep your eyes peeled.
