Get ready, Virgin River fans — a new face may soon be arriving in town, and he’s already got hearts fluttering.
Austin Nichols, best known as the charming Julian Baker from the iconic teen drama One Tree Hill, just hinted at a new role in Netflix’s beloved small-town romance, Virgin River. Taking to Instagram this week, the actor shared a cheeky video that has fans spiraling with anticipation.
“Shhhh… New gig… Stay tuned!” he teased in the caption, before adding with a wink, “I’ve just landed in Virgin—uh, I mean Vancouver—and starting a new job. I can’t wait for you guys to see it.”
Fans were quick to connect the dots. Since Virgin River is famously filmed in Vancouver, many believe Nichols is officially joining the cast for Season 7.
Nichols, 44, is already a fan favorite for his memorable run on One Tree Hill, where he played the endearing filmmaker Julian Baker, who captured the heart of Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush). Their on-screen romance became one of the show’s most celebrated love stories, culminating in a wedding and the birth of twins, Davis and Jude.
Now, over a decade later, Nichols may be adding Virgin River to his impressive TV résumé, which includes roles on The Walking Dead, John from Cincinnati, and the blockbuster films The Day After Tomorrow and Wimbledon.
The Instagram comments were pure fan frenzy.
“One of my favorite characters and actors in OTH in my favorite show Virgin River?! Yes pleaaase,” gushed one follower.
“NOT Virgin River OH MY GOSH PLEASE,” added another excited fan.
“Julian with Mel and Jack and the gang! Yes!!!” wrote a viewer who couldn’t contain their joy.
Netflix has yet to confirm Nichols’ casting, but with Season 7 filming recently wrapping and rumors swirling, it seems all signs point to Haven for this small-town heartthrob.
Stay tuned — Virgin River might just be welcoming a new resident, and we’re already obsessed.
