Virgin River fans feel ‘sad’ for character as new season 6 poster hints at future romance
Virgin River fans have been discussing the latest poster for season 6 following the news that the Netflix show has been renewed once more.
Virgin River viewers have been closely analysing a new poster promoting season six, which features the main cast of characters interacting.
It comes after Netflix confirmed the popular show had been renewed for a seventh season, two months before season six is set to drop.
Virgin River fans have been rejoicing at the news and are now more excited than ever to see Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) back on their screens.
With 10 more episodes of the show in the works, Virgin River has also broken records as Netflix’s longest-running English-language drama series ever.
This is, in part, thanks to the series’ addictive romances and inviting cosy small-town setting
The cast of the show, which also includes Sarah Dugdale, Tim Matheson, Kandyse McClure, Zibby Allen, Ben Hollingsworth and Colin Lawrence, recently appeared in a new poster with Jack’s Bar as the backdrop.
Taking to Reddit, one fan with the username @Dapper-Mulberry-5362 shared the new snap with the caption: “Will the new poster mirror the S6? Weren’t we promised more Mel and Jack?”
Stirring the pot further, they added: “Your thoughts on the new poster, considering there is almost the whole cast compared to only Mel and Jack to previous seasons?” (sic)
However, other viewers didn’t seem too worried about how much the show’s central romance would be featured, with one writing: “Posters really don’t ever tell you much. Don’t read too much into it.”
“VR is more than Jack Mel people… there many characters that we love… From what we saw in the trailer there will be a lot of Jack Mel, relax,” another added. (sic)
A third insisted: “The first S6 trailer is only about on Mel & Jack and the lead up to their wedding, and they’re at the centre of this poster. I’m quietly confident we’re going to see a lot of them – but not necessarily together all the time.” (sic)
Meanwhile, other fans pointed out the “sad” state of affairs between Brie (Allen) and Brady (Hollingsworth).
One commented: “Brady having nobody is a bit sad. Looks like he was getting a bit of a redemption story, I hope he doesn’t get shafted in S6, hope he pulls through the trouble with Lark (and Jimmy) from last season, a great little twist by the way.” (sic)
While other fans seemed hopeful for a reunion, with one replying: “Brady and Brie are looking at each other tho…” (sic)
“Brie may be with someone in this poster but if you look at her face, she sure looks sad and distant. Kinda mirrors Brady’s face,” another agreed. (sic)
“Oh no! Bree & Brady, eyeing one another from across the room … lol,” a fourth commented.
While one more fan speculated: “Brady and Brie looking at each other is a nice touch. Wonder how Lark will mess up Brady this time tho.” (sic)
