Virgin River fans convinced Mel has a secret sibling as episode titles tease huge twist
Fans of Netflix’s hit small-town drama Virgin River are convinced there’s a jaw-dropping twist coming up next season.
Virgin River fans are convinced season six’s cryptic episode titles contain a key hint towards a massive twist for Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge).
The episode titles, in alphabetical order, are as follows:
Brothers & Sisters
Ghosts
Going Overboard
Hope Springs Eternal
I Climbed a Mountain and I Turned Around
Love Story
Prelude to a Kiss
The Big Day
While it’s not been confirmed in which order these episodes will run in, viewers have been intrigued by one episode in particular as it could be teasing a huge shake-up.
The Big Day has also caught the attention of fans, as it surely suggests Mel and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) will be tying the knot at some point in season six.
But it’s Brothers & Sisters that has raised the most speculation, sparking wild theories that Mel has a sibling she didn’t already know about – and they could already be living in Virgin River.
“Do we know what episode number this is meant to be? I think it might be Everett (John Allen Nelson) telling Mel she has some more siblings,” one fan predicted on Reddit.
And another suggested: “Everett confesses that he also had an affair with Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) mum that’s why he’s estranged from VR as he & Doc (Tim Matheson) got into a fight over it. And Mel has another sister (from Portland).”
While a third fan added: “I think it’ll be the arrival of Jack’s other sisters and maybe Everett telling Mel she has a brother and they arrive for the wedding.”
Another fan went one step further to suggest: “Maybe she has twins a brother and a sister?”
While an incredibly outlandish theory could spark a huge uproar amongst the fanbase if it turned out to be true.
“Mel’s dad confesses to her that he also has a son living in Virgin River and he thinks it may be Jack!!!!!!!!” one viewer looking to stir up some drama wrote.
When another user replied “OMG!” the original commenter replied: “I mean, would you really be surprised????? The VR writers are insane half the time!”
But another wisely insisted: “This is Virgin River, not Game of Thrones!”
A substantial portion of the fandom is definitely keeping their fingers crossed for another family connection for Mel.
However, most seem to be in agreement that the “Sisters” part of the title refers to Jack’s siblings, while “Brothers” could refer to Jack’s marine friends.
They’ll just have to wait to find out what’s in store in the next chapter when Virgin River returns before the end of the year.
