Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles are used to seeing Special Agent Kensi Blye sprint toward danger in combat boots, gun drawn and instincts razor-sharp. But Season 8 delivered one of the show’s most unexpected — and unforgettable — twists yet. In the episode “From Havana with Love,” Kensi trades tactical gear for salsa heels, going undercover inside a Cuban dance club tied to an international espionage case.
Played with effortless charisma by Daniela Ruah, Kensi’s mission requires more than interrogation skills. She must charm suspects, blend into the rhythm of the club, and execute a sultry salsa routine convincing enough to avoid suspicion. The result is a high-energy sequence that lets viewers see a completely different side of the usually tough-as-nails agent.
Ruah was paired with professional dancer and actor George Akram, a performer with serious dance credentials. Despite Ruah’s own background — she won Portugal’s Dancing With the Stars years earlier — the actress admitted the scene pushed her out of her comfort zone. Still, the chemistry and confidence on screen made the moment electric, proving Kensi can command a dance floor just as fiercely as a crime scene.
