The Bachelorette season 15 alum Tyler Cameron suggested that his father, Jeff Cameron, would be better suited for The Golden Bachelor than The Golden Bachelorette for a shocking reason. During The Bachelorette, Tyler opened up to Hannah Brown about how his parents’ divorce had made him hesitant to have a relationship. Tragically, his mother, Andrea, passed away in March 2020 from a brain aneurysm at age 55. Tyler has since founded the Andrea C. Cameron Foundation in her honor. The foundation awards scholarships to students.
“He likes to juggle multiple women at once.”
In an interview with Us Weekly, Tyler revealed that his dad, Jeff, “would be good for being the Golden Bachelor, not The Golden Bachelorette ’cause he likes to juggle multiple women at once. So he’d be better for The Golden Bachelor.” Tyler also suggested that the producers move The Golden Bachelorette to his home state of Florida. As he explained, “I’ll run the show. There’s plenty of people to pick from. We’ll go to the villages where all the old people hang out…and I can help guide the way. I know plenty of old guys…that could meet a nice lady.”
Should Any Other Bachelor Parents Join Golden Spin-Offs?
The Bachelor Season 28’s Kelsey Anderson’s Dad Has Been A Frontrunner
Now that the Golden shows have become a reality, hometown dates on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette could lead to parents, or even grandparents, being cast. During The Bachelor season 28, Kelsey Anderson’s dad, Mark, became a fan-favorite, and there was speculation he could be cast as a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette or the lead of The Golden Bachelor season 2. The Bachelorette season 19 star Gabby Windey’s Grandpa John would be a great choice for that role. It would be very sweet to see the parents or grandparents of Bachelor franchise contestants find love on the Golden series.
While it seems as though Tyler might’ve been joking about a lot of what he said in his interview, it would be interesting to see him take control of The Golden Bachelorette. He was very critical of The Golden Bachelor stars Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s divorce, and said that they put a “stain” on love. While Jesse Palmer is a great host, it would be intriguing to see Tyler as an advisor or matchmaker figure on the show. It would be the perfect way for him to return to the Bachelor franchise after all these years.
As Joan Vassos prepares for her Golden Bachelorette journey, it’ll be exciting to see if Mark Anderson joins her cast. They both have a kind and calm demeanor, and have experienced great loss with the tragic deaths of their spouses. Perhaps Tyler’s father will eventually make an appearance on The Golden Bachelor or Bachelorette as well. There might even be some new potential contestants in Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette season whom viewers will meet during her hometown dates. Whatever happens next, hopefully everyone involved will find what they’re looking for.
