The Twilight Saga is a series of fantasy films based on Stephanie Meyer’s book series. The series consists of five movies, with the first installment celebrating its 15th anniversary on November 21, 2023. Many Walking Dead fans know that Christian Serratos, who played Rosita in the main series, starred in all five films, and there are a few other TWDU actors who also appeared in at least one movie.
Serratos portrayed Angela Weber in all five Twilight films. Her role was smaller in the first film, but becomes a great friend of Bella (Kristen Stewart) in New Moon.
Actress Maggie Grace, who starred in Fear the Walking Dead as Al, portrayed Irina in both Breaking Dawn films. She is part of the Denali Coven, a group of vegetarian vampires.
Alex Meraz, the Reaper named Carver in the final season of The Walking Dead, starred in New Moon and Breaking Dawn 1 and 2 as Paul, a a Quileute shape-shifter.
Justin Rain starred in Fear the Walking Dead as Crazy Dog and as a Quileute Warrior in Eclipse.
Noel Fisher starred as Willy in season three of Fear the Walking Dead and Vladimir in Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Claire Torrance would play Edward and Bella’s daughter Renesmee at age 3 in Breaking Dawn Part 2 and played Thompsons Daughter #1 in Fear the Walking Dead’s first season.
While the Twilight film saga has received negative to mixed reviews, the fan base for the franchise is solid. The first film grossed $7 million in ticket sales from the midnight showing alone. The opening of New Moon ranks as the 9th highest opening weekend in domestic history.
The films were parodied in Vampires Suck, a movie released in 2010 that currently has a 4% critical ranking on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite critics’ opinions, the movie did quite well at the box office, opening at number one in the United States.
