Is Daredevil’s dance card quite empty? Is there a New Amsterdam sequel in NBC’s future? Who in Peacemaker Season 2 shares a “powder keg” dynamic? Read on for answers to those questions and others! (You can and should email any brand-new Qs to [email protected].)

Anything on Daredevil: Born Again Season 2? –Greg
Given that Margarita Levieva’s Heather Glenn is now Mayor Fisk’s Commissioner on Mental Health, and with “a lot more” of Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen appearing in Season 2, Charlie Cox told me that things are frosty, at best, between Matt and his therapist ex. “They’re not great,” he affirmed at the Disney Upfront, chuckling. “Not great at all!”

Is NBC going to order the New Amsterdam sequel series for the fall of 2025? –Zachary
As you have since seen, New Amsterdam: Tomorrow did not wind up on NBC’s announced 2025-26 schedule, but I am told that the medical drama’s future-set sequel is, in fact, still in development.

Any scoop on The Rookie to tide us over until 2026? –Leah
Why, it’s barely been two weeks since the season finale! Let’s pace ourselves, everyone. That said, I do have this nugget from showrunner Alexi Hawley, about whether Wesley might now run for DA with boss man Sean choosing to exit the race. “That’s a fair question to ask,” he said. “The writers room literally started yesterday [April 14], but we’re sniffing around a bit of where to take that story, and it would certainly make sense for Wesley, who was a defense attorney and believes very strongly in righting the wrongs of an injust justice system. He’s an assistant DA, they have not a ton of power, so becoming the DA would give him an ability to shake things up. So, we’re definitely kicking the tires on that idea.”

With NCIS: Origins introducing both Lara Macy and Diane, is there any early word on other character introductions for Season 2? Like maybe the Fed 5? –Ryan
It does sound like the Fed 5 — aka the quintet of LEOs first revealed in NCIS: New Orleans‘ backdoor pilot, and comprised of Franks, Gibbs, Dwayne Pride, Felix Betts and Dan McLane — will at some point be addressed by the NCIS prequel series. “We always have our eye on canon,” co-showrunner Gina Lucita Monreal avowed when I delivered your Q. “We have a big huge timeline in the writers room and we’re really strict about sticking to it. The canon matters to us, and we never want to ignore it. So, all the things that we’re seeing in canon, we will address one way or another.”

Did Primos officially get cancelled after one season? –Cailin
Disney’s coming-of-age animated comedy — about Tater Ramirez Humphrey and the 12 chaotic cousins who move in with her family for the summer — indeed has wrapped production, but all 28 Season 1 episodes can be enjoyed on Disney+.

On Ghosts, will Sam ever introduce Trevor to the Cutting Edge movie universe — The Cutting Edge: Going for Gold (they have a daughter with Olympic goals), The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream and The Cutting Edge: Fire and Ice? –Jen H.
We got your Q in front of the CBS hitcom’s co-showrunners, and though Joe Port admitted to being “less familiar with the sequels,” partner Joe Wiseman said, “That seems like that’d be a fertile ground to explore, to see what Trevor thinks of them.”

When will Season 3 of SurrealEstate be on Hulu? –Paul
Season 3 will be ready to stream stream in full on Hulu June 6, the morning after the finale airs on Syfy.

I need to know when Rivals Season 2 is coming back, because I have to know if Lord Baddingham is OK, if Lizzie and Freddie are going to be together… and what about Taggie and Rupert?! So many questions! –Imola
The 12-episode Season 2 began filming a few weeks ago, and is on track to premiere on Hulu in… 2026.

Any Season 2 scoop on Doc‘s Jake? –Aimee
When discussing the new characters that might get cast for (the XL) Season 2 of Fox’s hit medical drama, showrunner Barbie Kligman told me, “We want to meet Jake’s ex. We want to meet his kid. We want to get to see more of Jake’s life, separate from Amy.”

I heard Crime Scene Kitchen has been renewed, and I’ve seen some of the upcoming Fox schedules but it’s not on them. Any scoop on when these next season is going to air? –Rita
There will indeed be more of Crime Scene Kitchen and the patience-testing Confectionator 3000, but a premiere date has not yet been set.

I haven’t seen Julia Jones announced as part of the cast of Dexter: Resurrection. Do you know if she’ll be back? –Adrián
This much I can share: New Blood‘s Angela is, at the very least, mentioned in the latest Showtime offshoot….

Any early Matlock Season 2 scoop? –Dee
Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman is on a mission to guest-cast the real-life loves of at least two cast members. “Obviously I want Melanie Lynskey (Jason Ritter’s wife and a Yellowjackets star) to come on and play a fun character, and I want Edwin Hodge (Skye P. Marshall’s husband and very recently of FBI: Most Wanted) to come on and play a fun character…,” she shared with me. “I’ve got a lot of plans!”

Do ya really wanna, do ya really wanna give me anything for Peacemaker Season 2? —Shawna
Well, you can press play above to get Nathan Fillion’s thoughts on the “powder keg” dynamic between his Guy Gardner (a Green Lantern and bonafide Justice League member) and John Cena’s Chris Smith/Peacemaker, which was hinted at in the DC series’ recent trailer.

I assumed it was 100% dunzo, but instead I am told there are “no updates at this time” on the Phil Keoghan-hosted reality competition, which last aired almost two years ago.
