We all know Trudy Platt as the tough-as-nails desk sergeant with a glare that could melt steel. But there’s a whole life behind that desk we’ve never seen—and one Season 12 script was set to reveal it.
The flashback-heavy episode, titled Rookie Blues, explored Platt’s early years as one of the few female officers on the force in the 1990s, battling corruption, harassment, and one brutal incident that almost made her quit for good.
The scenes were filmed. Amy Morton even wore vintage 90s cop gear.
But after a last-minute network reshuffle, the episode was replaced with a more “mainstream” case-of-the-week story.
Fans have been asking for Trudy’s story for years. Now, whispers suggest the episode may resurface in a Season 13 character spotlight arc.
Until then, one thing’s for sure: the woman behind the desk deserves her own war story.
