Longtime Young and Restless fans will be happy to hear that Nina and Gina have RSVP’d for Danny and Christine’s wedding, as a rep for the show confirms to Soap Opera Digest that Tricia Cast and Patty Weaver are returning to for the big event. The two actresses are already on set at Y&R this week, taping the special wedding episodes, which are currently scheduled to air sometime in November.
Wouldn’t Miss It For the World
Cast first made her debut as Nina Webster back in June 1986 and won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 1992. She exited in 2001, returned for a handful of episodes in November 2008, and then came back for a bigger storyline in 2009, remaining on recurring status with Y&R for another few years. The actress popped in for guest appearances in September 2013 and August 2014, and again for brief runs in 2020 and 2021. Cast was back once again in 2023 for the soap’s 50th anniversary and to participate in the 40th anniversary of Lauralee Bell (Christine), and her last appearance was in March 2024.

Weaver joined the cast of Y&R as Gina Roma back in October 1982 and remained with the soap until 2009, making a brief return for a couple of episodes in 2013 for Katherine Chancellor’s funeral. Her most recent appearance was in March 2023 for Y&R’s golden anniversary.
As Danny’s sister and Christine’s best friend, respectively, it’s only natural that Gina and Nina would want to be in attendance as the couple ties the knot again. They were both closely involved in Danny and Christine’s Hawaiian intimate nuptials back in 1990, with Nina serving as Christine’s matron of honor — at the time, she was married to the evil David Kimble, who unbeknownst to everyone celebrating the wedding was responsible for the false accusations of drug possession Danny had recently faced — and Gina serenading the happy couple with “Starting Here, Starting Now” as the bride made her way toward her groom at the start of the ceremony.
Since Nina’s last appearance in Genoa City, the character has suffered a great loss — her son, police detective Chance Chancellor, was murdered in August by Cane Ashby’s second-in-command, Carter. Might the grieving mother find time to give Cane a piece of her mind while she’s in town? Stay tuned!
