While Bravo 1 and Bravo 6 track Curtis down in a small village, Jason becomes vulnerable. He is unable to shoot the trainer when he begins to see his reflection in Curtis.
Jason was haunted by guilt and even distanced himself from his loved ones after killing a terrorist in the first episode of Season 7. He began to feel like Curtis, who did not deserve forgiveness after killing so many people as a Navy SEAL. As a result, he put his gun down in front of Curtis and started to walk away.
However, Drew completed the mission by killing Curtis. In addition to Curtis betraying the United States, he also wanted revenge for Curtis’s involvement in the attempt to kill his brother. Drew felt that letting Curtis live would ruin Jason’s career because he had indirectly spared the life of a traitor.
Thus, the newest member of Bravo completed a deadly mission and even saved the leader’s career. Additionally, Jason overcame his guilt after a positive encounter with the wife of the first terrorist he killed. She refuses to hold him accountable for his actions as a soldier, and so Jason continues to lead the Navy Seals.
