Tracker’s Fiona Rene Wants to Work With Justin Hartley’s Wife Sofia Perna
Tracker fans aren’t the only ones who want Justin Hartley’s wife, Sofia Pernas, to return to the show for season 2.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Fiona Rene praised Pernas when discussing her efforts to have them share the screen in a future episode.
“I can’t believe I haven’t talked about this. I love Sofia Pernas with every fiber of my being. She’s a boss,” Rene, 36, told Us. “It would be so much fun to work with her. I’ve told the writers room we need an episode together.”
Rene is keen to see if her character Reenie gets along with Pernas’ Billie, adding, “They’ll either be best friends or absolute enemies. They’re both very similar in a lot of ways in terms of not accepting any nonsense. So it’ll be interesting to explore both sides. Of course I want Reenie and Billie to be together.”
Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas have hinted at her return in ‘Tracker’
Tracker, which premieres in February, centers on a survivalist named Colter (Hartley) who travels across the country helping people and law enforcement solve various mysteries. As the series unfolds, viewers will learn more about how Colter’s past shapes his present life as a lone wolf who prefers to keep himself isolated from others.
Hartley’s role as star and executive producer on the show has allowed him to bring some familiar faces along for the ride. In addition to working with his wife, Melissa Roxburgh and Jensen Ackles have been brought in to play members of Colter’s family.
“Reenie needs to meet Dory [played by Roxburgh]. Now that Reenie has met Russell [played by Ackles], I think Reenie also wants to meet some of the people who made Colter who he is,” Rene explained. “So not just his family, but the Jennifer Morrison character as well. It’s just Reenie’s a little detective. She’s like, ‘Are you always like this? Who were you 10 years ago? Let me meet those people. ‘ ”
Hartley, 47, previously made it clear that Pernas, 35, would be back for more after appearing in an episode earlier this season.

“She’s definitely coming back. We have some pretty exciting stuff for her to do next year,” he told Deadline in May. “She’s coming back multiple times next year. We’ve built a really great group of actors [who] hopefully will be ready to come back, because we’d love to do more with them. We have a lot of stories to tell with all of [them].”
Ahead of season 2, Hartley also explained how Ackles, 46, and Roxburgh, 31, will return to play Colter’s siblings despite their busy schedules. (After both were introduced in the first season, Ackles was booked on the upcoming Prime Video horror series Countdown, while Roxburgh was cast as the lead in NBC’s midseason drama The Hunting Party.)
“[Melissa’s] show wrapped [production] before we wrapped so we could have her back for the final episodes of the show,” the actor noted to TV Insider in September. “And then Jennifer Morrison will be back to direct episode 6. I’m sure her character will be back.”

For her part, Rene is also excited about how season 2 will expand Reenie’s story.
“Obviously, we’re building on Colter’s relationships and what he can do. We’re going to see more of him. But then for Reenie, we’re going to see her identity without Colter,” she teased to Us. “Before, it was like, ‘Who is she? What is her relationship with him? Who is she besides him? How can she help him?’ And while all of that is still true, now we’re seeing Reenie. Who is she and what is her life and what does she care about and where is she in her life?”
Tracker airs on CBS Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes will stream the following day on Paramount+.
