Tracker Star Fiona Rene Hints at Reenie’s Shocking Season 2 Journey Without Colter!

Season 2 of Tracker is allowing Fiona Rene’s Reenie to grow outside of her connection to Justin Hartley’s character, Colter. “Obviously we’re building on Colter’s relationships and what he’s able to do. We are getting to see more of him. But then for Reenie, we’re seeing her identity without Colter,” Rene, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the newest episode, which airs Sunday, November 3.

Rene is thrilled to find out more about Reenie, adding, “Before it was like, ‘Who is she? What was her relationship to him? Who was she alongside him? How could she help him?’ And even though all those things are still true, now we’re seeing Reenie. Who is she, and what’s her life, and what’s she interested in and where is she in her life?” While the first season of Tracker needed to introduce everyone through their individual relationships with Colter, the hit CBS series is now branching out.

What to Know About Season 2 of Justin Hartley’s Hit Show ‘Tracker’: Sofia Pernas’ Return and More. “We only saw [Reenie] next to him. Now you’re seeing her in her own office — which she helped design — and we’re seeing her love life and we’re seeing her hobbies,” Rene teased. “I think we can get really excited to see more of her as an individual as opposed to just her relationship with him.”

Tracker, which debuted in February, is centered around survivalist Colter who travels the country helping people and law enforcement tackle a variety of mysteries. He usually gets help from a team all around the country including his handler Velma (Abby McEnany), a hacker named Bobby (Eric Graise) and Reenie, who has been his attorney the past two seasons. “I’m so impressed by Reenie. I am not Reenie and I try so hard to live up to her. I’ve been saying WWRD [What Would Reenie Do],” Rene joked to Us. “Seeing her not only take care of herself, take care of the people that she loves and build a business and try to have a relationship — it’s what the world is expecting of a woman. It’s hard to do and she’s doing it.”

She continued: “I’m interested in seeing if there’s any cracks along the way and how she’s holding it all up. But I really am impressed by her. I think with the new firm, it’s given her a new sense of confidence that she doesn’t have to answer to someone in regards to what case is important and what’s not. We’ll see more of that in the future.”

Reenie Steps Out of the Shadows

Tracker fans, get ready for a major shift. Fiona Rene, who plays Reenie Greene in CBS’s breakout hit Tracker, recently teased some big developments for her character in Season 2. And here’s the kicker — those developments come with a lot less of Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw. That’s right, Reenie’s stepping into the spotlight all on her own. So, what does this mean for fans? Is Reenie ready to carry her own storyline? According to Fiona Rene, absolutely.

Who Is Reenie Greene in Tracker?

Before we dive into the juicy Season 2 teasers, let’s recap.

Reenie’s Role in Season 1

Reenie Greene is Colter Shaw’s tech-savvy, fiercely loyal friend and resource. She helps him track down missing people by hacking systems, digging into data, and offering tactical advice from a distance.

The Quiet Backbone of the Series

While Colter does the heavy lifting in the field, Reenie has always been the silent power behind him — like Batman’s Oracle or Mission: Impossible’s Benji Dunn. Smart, witty, and intensely private, she became a fan favorite without needing too much screen time.

Season 2 Brings Reenie to the Forefront

Fiona Rene Says “It’s Time”

In a recent interview, Fiona Rene revealed:

“Season 2 is going to peel back the layers of Reenie. It’s about who she is when she’s not just helping Colter. We’re going deeper—without leaning on Justin’s character as much.”

That’s huge. The show is betting big on her character, and Rene sounds ready for the challenge.

Character Development Without Colter

Why Separate Her From Colter?

You might be wondering — why sideline Colter at all? Isn’t he the show’s lead?

Building Independence and Identity

The producers and writers want to create a multidimensional universe. Reenie isn’t just Colter’s assistant — she’s a person with a past, secrets, and her own inner fire. Season 2 is going to show all that.

Giving Other Characters Breathing Room

Let’s be real — when a show focuses too much on one person, others get sidelined. Season 2 aims to balance the narrative. And that means more Reenie, more mystery, and deeper emotional arcs.

What We Know About Season 2 So Far

New Faces, New Places

Season 2 reportedly introduces new characters who will challenge and support Reenie in unique ways. We’ll also see her operate in environments far outside her comfort zone.

More Flashbacks, More Emotion

Rene hinted that we’ll be seeing flashbacks that explore Reenie’s backstory — and yes, some of them will be hard to watch. That’s what makes good TV, right?

Reenie’s Tech Brilliance — Finally in the Spotlight

Not Just a Sidekick

Season 1 barely scratched the surface of Reenie’s hacking and investigative skills. Season 2 plans to showcase them front and center.

Ethical Dilemmas and Tough Choices

With more screen time comes more complex situations. Expect Reenie to face moral gray areas that test her loyalty, intelligence, and courage.

No Colter? No Problem

Is Justin Hartley Leaving the Show?

Nope! Don’t panic — Hartley isn’t going anywhere. But Season 2 will occasionally separate the two characters to explore parallel narratives.

Strategic Storytelling

Think of it like Marvel movies — sometimes the heroes team up, other times they split off to grow. This is Tracker’s way of evolving the storyline without losing its soul.

Reenie’s Identity: What We’ve All Been Waiting For

The Mystery Deepens

Season 1 gave us clues about Reenie’s past. Season 2 promises to blow that mystery wide open.

What Is She Running From?

Fiona Rene teased that Reenie has a “hidden history” that could change everything we think we know about her. Intriguing, right?

Fiona Rene Speaks Out

Her Most Personal Role Yet

Rene explained that playing Reenie in Season 2 was “incredibly personal,” revealing that parts of her own life helped shape the arc.

“This Is the Season You’ll Really See Her”

That line hit fans hard — especially those who felt Reenie deserved more screen time in Season 1. Rene’s passion is unmistakable.

Mental Health Themes Incoming

Vulnerability on Screen

The writers are weaving mental health themes into Reenie’s arc — including anxiety, isolation, and the cost of always being “the strong one.”

Breaking Stereotypes

Reenie’s story also aims to challenge stereotypes about women in tech — particularly women of color. It’s about time we saw more of that on prime-time TV.

Could Reenie Get Her Own Spinoff?

A Fan-Fueled Possibility

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves — but fans have already started buzzing about a Reenie spinoff. With Season 2 setting her up as a standalone character, it’s not impossible.

Fiona Rene Is Game

Rene didn’t confirm anything but did say, “If they gave me a spinoff, I wouldn’t say no.” That’s enough to get fans hyped.

Social Media Reacts to Reenie’s Rise

Twitter and TikTok Are All In

Fan reactions to Fiona Rene’s teaser have been wild. “Give Reenie her own show!” is a common tweet. TikTok edits of Reenie are racking up views.

Final Thoughts: Reenie’s Time Is Now

Season 2 of Tracker is shaping up to be a game-changer, especially for Fiona Rene’s Reenie Greene. Breaking away from Justin Hartley’s Colter, she’s poised to emerge not just as a supporting player, but as a lead in her own right. It’s the kind of storytelling that makes great shows even greater — by trusting the power of their characters.

So buckle up. Reenie’s stepping into the light, and she’s taking us on one hell of a ride.
