Tracker Season 3: Will Justin Hartley Return With New Adventures?

CBS has had great success with the exciting series Tracker over its first two seasons so far, but will the network continue to air the show for a third season? Based on the novel The Never Game by Jeffrey Deaver, the series revolves around Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a survivalist who uses his incredible tracking skills to make a living by taking bounties and finding missing people. Aside from the simple yet effective narrative structure the series uses, Tracker also manages to build suspense by introducing Shaw’s complicated past, which is revealed as a mystery as each episode goes on.

Tracker season 2 continues to introduce elements of Colter Shaw’s family life, including his estranged brother, played by Jensen Ackles, and the mystery surrounding his father’s murder. This ongoing storyline sets Tracker apart from many other shows on television and gives the series the opportunity to grow and change over its run. This kind of momentum keeps viewers tuned in week after week and is a good reason for CBS to continue airing the Justin Hartley-led show for several more seasons. However, Tracker season 3 has yet to be renewed by CBS.

There’s no doubt that Tracker will once again be an unstoppable hit, and a renewal is just a matter of time.

Tracker’s first season was a smash hit, and it came at a pivotal time for CBS, which is reeling from the 2023 Hollywood strikes like every other network. Though it was postponed until midseason in early 2024, the new show was a huge hit for CBS and quickly scored a season 2 renewal. With all that said, the network has yet to pick up Tracker for a third season, though that’s no cause for alarm. While season 2 will certainly be as big (if not bigger) than its predecessor, it’s still not big enough to score a pre-renewal.
