If you’ve been hooked on Tracker since Season 1, buckle up — Season 3 is about to take you on a wild ride! The series just revealed a major update that’s flipping the entire storyline on its head, and fans are losing it (in the best way possible).
Tracker fans are getting even more exciting news about the show’s upcoming third season, following the confirmation that a fan-favorite storyline from Season 2 would be picked up again in the new episodes. The CBS show has been sharing nothing but good news with fans regarding Season three recently, including a peek at which characters are expected to return, as well as a promise to dig deeper into one character’s background.
The series also shared news regarding when it would start filming again, and the date was sooner than fans expected. In the episode, Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) was tasked to find a man named Lucas Jones, who was presumed dead years prior. This brought him face-to-face with Barbie Lee (Freda Foh Shen), a woman who’s business helps make people disappear.
In his interview, Reid shared that he loved the idea of exploring a format of continuous storytelling, but it needed to be done in “Moderation.” “…CBS has been very supportive of us telling those larger, arced storylines, and OI think it’s what you’re seeing a lot more of network TV these days, and I think they’re perfecting it,” he said. “It’s not so deep that someone has to read, like, 10 pages of backstory to watch the show. I find there’s a barrier to some of these shows–I don’t want to do all the work to catch up–so I think it’s just about moderation.”
He then shared that CBS was supportive when it came to the idea, and the show had plenty to unpack if it used that approach, but the Night Movers episode would be one that could come back into play. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, Tracker Season 3 hits hard. It’s emotional. It’s thrilling. And it’s got just enough mystery to keep you coming back every week.
