Tracker Season 2 Trailer: Jensen Ackles Returns and Colter’s ‘Bizarre’ Case Revealed in First Look
The trailer for Tracker season 2 teases one of the show’s most bizarre storylines to date. The CBS action drama follows Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a lone survivor who uses his tracking skills to help various people in need. Hartley will return for the upcoming Tracker season 2 alongside Sofia Pernas as Billie Matalon, Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin, Jennifer Morrison as Lizzy Hawking and Jensen Ackles as Colter’s brother Russell Shaw, although Robin Weigert will not be returning as Teddi Bruin.
CBS has now released the official trailer for Tracker season 2. The trailer opens with Colter investigating a mysterious disappearance in the woods involving a man leaving his phone behind and opening his car door. He then takes on a case described as “a little strange,” after which he is illuminated from above while standing in a field, a scene that appears to be an alien abduction. The trailer also shows the return of Ackles’ Russell, driving alongside Colter in uneasy silence. Check out the full trailer below:
The strange case teased in the Tracker season 2 trailer remains unknown at this time. However, despite the allusions to mysterious footage of Colter in the field, it seems highly unlikely that the show will actually introduce the alien threat. It seems likely that the appearance of these lights was caused by a helicopter landing in the area or a similar, albeit still unusual, incident.
His reunion with Russell could also indicate that the two formerly estranged brothers are slowly rebuilding their relationship.
The video also reveals that Colter will be building more relationships with others, gradually abandoning his solitary lifestyle. While the trailer shows him slowly gaining the respect of a character who doesn’t appreciate those looking for rewards, the footage of his reunion with Russell could also indicate that the two formerly estranged brothers are slowly rebuilding their relationship. This tense scene could come from an upcoming storyline involving Colter discovering a secret from his mother’s past, which could lead the pair back together again.
While the new trailer raises more questions than it answers, those lingering questions combined with the on-screen reunion of returning members of the Tracker cast are more than enough to make the video a compelling teaser for the return of the hit series. This is especially true in the case of the reunion of Colter and Russell, who still have a lot to deal with when it comes to their past and unresolved feelings about their father’s death.
