Tracker Season 2 Trailer Finds Justin Hartley’s Character Distracted From Work By Possible New Romance
Justin Hartley is enjoying the fruits of his hard work — literally.

PEOPLE has the exclusive trailer for season 2 of CBS’ Tracker, which stars Hartley, 47, as Colter Shaw, a reward-seeker who travels the country working as a private investigator and survivalist to help law enforcement find people in exchange for money.

The trailer teases viewers by showing Colter back at work as a series of scenes from the upcoming season flash by, including him sharing a passionate kiss with a possible new love. But will this new flame become a distraction from his work?

Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw. While investigating the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car was found abandoned on the side of the road in the backwoods of Arkansas, Colter makes a shocking discovery about the mother’s past that leads him into the world of organized crime.

“I promise you didn’t do anything stupid,” Colter’s business manager, Velma Bruin (Abby McEnany), asks.

Tracker’s Sofia Pernas shares why Billie turned down Colter’s dinner date: ‘She was afraid of getting hurt’ (Exclusive) Apparently asked again about what he did, Colter says he “doesn’t want to talk about it,” prompting tech guru Bobby Exley (Eric Graise) to note that it “sounds suspicious.”

Other scenes in the clip include everything from a car ride with his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles) to a surprise moment featuring the return of bounty hunter Billie Matalon, played by Hartley’s wife, Sofia Pernas.

Ackles’ return as Colter’s brother was confirmed by Hartley, who is also an executive producer on Tracker, during the 2024 Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour in California in July.

“We’ve got him, he’s coming back,” Hartley said. “We’re having fun with it. It’s a great story.”

Other returning characters include attorney Reenie Green, played by Fiona Rene.

While Hartley previously told PEOPLE that he likes “the fact that Colter doesn’t have a girlfriend,” an enemies-to-lovers romance with Billie could be in the character’s future based on the trailer. “Ain’t you famous, man,” Billie says in the clip as she walks up to a bar where Colter is sitting. The two are then seen dancing for a moment before Rene says in a voiceover, “Notice I didn’t ask about you and Billie,” to which Colter replies, “Can we focus on work?” Tracker’s Sofia Pernas Shares Why Billie Turned Down Colter’s Dinner Date: ‘She’s Afraid of Getting Hurt’ (Exclusive) Last season, Pernas, 34, guest-starred in the show’s sixth episode, titled “Lexington,” which introduced viewers to her character and the relationship between Billie and Colter.

Colter even asked Billie out to dinner — an idea she herself had brought up earlier in the episode — but Billie shockingly declined.

“I think she doesn’t like being vulnerable, and I think if she were to have dinner with him, she would have to address the pink elephant in the room inside herself and be like, ‘Oh my gosh, I really like this guy,'” Pernas previously told PEOPLE of her character’s decision. “I think she’s someone who probably doesn’t like dealing with her emotions as easily as she deals with other things.”
