TRACKER Season 2: Justin Hartley & Jensen Ackles Reunite as the Shaw Brothers
Justin Hartley and Jensen Ackles reunite as the Shaw brothers at the start of season 2 of CBS’ hit series Tracker, as Russell searches for Colter, who has gone missing during a job.
Tracker follows Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a lone survivor who roams the country in search of a bounty, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all sorts of mysteries while struggling with his own broken family.
Reenie (Fiona Rene) recruits Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles) to help after Colter (Justin Hartley) suddenly disappears while searching for his missing father. Jensen Ackles took time out of his very busy schedule preparing for his Amazon Prime Video series Countdown, which is currently filming in Los Angeles, to fly to Vancouver for three days on set — some driving around the back roads of Langley in Russell’s classic 1960s convertible muscle car (reminiscent of the 1967 Impala aka Baby from Supernatural).
There’s more to learn about the Colter family. When we met Colter in season one, he believed his brother Russell was responsible for their father’s death 20 years ago, but in the penultimate episode of season one, Russell convinced him that someone else was responsible. And we’ll learn that Russell has very different memories of something that happened in their past.
Who’s returning in season 2?
Episode 2: Russell Shaw, played by Jensen Ackles.
In the first season, Russell Shaw stays at a motel and drives what at first glance looks like a black 1967 Impala, reminiscent of Supernatural star Dean Winchester and his “Baby.” The car is another 1960s muscle car with a soft top instead of a hard top—but it’s the kind of classic car Dean would love.
