‘Tracker’ Season 2 Has Found Colter Shaw a New Love Interest

‘Tracker’ Season 2 Has Found Colter Shaw a New Love Interest
The highly anticipated season 2 of Tracker premieres Sunday, October 13 on CBS. Ahead of the new season, the Justin Hartley-led series, which has been a hit for CBS since its debut, has expanded its cast and added another layer to Colter Shaw’s personal life. For those familiar with the survivor’s story, he’s not out to save people in distress and getting paid for it. Colter Shaw has been dealing with a lot of family drama in his personal life. Ahead of the season 2 premiere on CBS, Floriana Lima has been cast as Colter’s new girlfriend, Camille Pickett.

A former Supergirl actress, Lima is also known for her roles in The Punisher and A Million Little Things. According to the casting announcement, Lima’s Camille Pickett is “haunted and compelling” and has been Colter’s love interest for at least a decade, though not consistently. Alongside Lima, Tracker’s second season will also see the addition of four new cast members, including Matt Long (Manifest), Lindy Booth (The Librarians), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue), and Ryan Dorsey (Sons of Anarchy). The quartet will guest star in the first episode of the second season. The official character description for Lima’s Camille reads: “Haunted, compelling… Camille has been Colter’s on-and-off lover for at least the past 10 years. Camille’s sister went missing 10 years ago and her case was never solved—which causes some trauma for both Camille and Colter on each anniversary of her disappearance, but also leads them to reconnect, at least for an evening.” Like many early seasons of the show, the first episode of Tracker Season 2 will see Colter trying to solve a mystery that will help mend a broken family, even though he himself is in a similar predicament. The Shaw family drama revisits scenes from Colter’s childhood, only evident in flashbacks throughout the first season. However, the rift it creates was evident in Season 1, as Colter and his brother, Russell Shaw (Jensen Ackles), were on the wrong side of many issues before an uneasy truce was agreed upon. Manifest veteran Melissa Roxburgh plays Russell and Colter’s sister, Dr. Dory Shaw, and while she has a good relationship with her brother, her relationship with their mother, Mary (Wendy Crewson), is anything but friendly.

Based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, the show became a surprise hit for CBS last year. However, heading into the new season, Tracker Season 2 will be missing one of its key cast members, Emmy-nominated actress Robin Weigert, who plays Teddi Bruin. Weigert’s character was part of Colter’s support group, and her loss will mean the series will have to change a bit to accommodate that reality. Showrunner Elwood Reid revealed that Teddi and her partner, Velma Bruin (Abby McEnany), have split up, a split that will require Fiona Rene’s Reenie to step in and partner with Velma.
