Tracker Season 2 Air Date Confirmed by CBS
Tracker Season 2 will return to CBS on October 27. Justin Hartley plays Colter, a mysterious survivor who solves mysteries in this action-packed drama.
Following a successful post-Super Bowl debut, Tracker quickly gained high ratings and was renewed for a second season.
The Tracker Season 2 release date has been confirmed by CBS. Hosted by This Is Us alum Hartley and created by Ben H. Winters, with Elwood Reid as showrunner, the action drama focuses on Hartley’s Colter Shaw. He is a skilled survivor who makes a living helping law enforcement and others track down what they need in exchange for money. The premise proved to be a hit for CBS, reaching viewership peaks and earning a quick renewal for Tracker for Season 2. While it was initially compared to Reacher because of its premise, the show has established itself as a trusted brand for a network that boasts many.
CBS once again finished the season as the top network. According to Nielsen data, the network attracted 5.59 million viewers per night in primetime when factoring in Live+7 data that looks at seven-day viewership. It established CBS as the most-watched broadcast network for the 16th consecutive season, thanks in no small part to Tracker.
Tracker is based on the novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver.
The Justin Hartley drama, with Tracker’s supporting cast including Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, and Fiona Rene, was the most-watched show of the previous season. It quickly found an audience since its post-Super Bowl 2024 debut. When looking at 35-day viewership, Tracker season 1 drew 20.4 million viewers per episode. That’s far ahead of other popular CBS shows like Young Sheldon and NCIS, which each drew around 12.9 million viewers. Ghosts, also on CBS, drew 11.9 million viewers.
While both are hugely popular and share many similarities, CBS’ Tracker is still a more watchable series than Reacher for a few key reasons.
While it was initially compared to Reacher because of its premise, the show has established itself as a trusted brand for a network that boasts so many of them. That’s especially true after Tracker season 1’s conclusion, which set the stage for an even stronger return with more notable guest stars and an expanded mystery.
