‘Tracker’ Renewed: Justin Hartley Drama Returns for Season 2 on CBS
Yes, this is an easy one for Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw: a hit on CBS.
The network has renewed Tracker for a second season, which will air in 2024-25. The news comes just four episodes into its first season.
Tracker is currently the No. 1 show on television. The first episode, which aired on February 11 after the Super Bowl, has now been viewed by 30 million people across multiple platforms and was Paramount+’s No. 1 show in February. Since its debut, the show has averaged nearly 16 million viewers across multiple platforms and is the most-watched new series since Young Sheldon in the 2017-18 season (16.49 million viewers) and the most-watched new series since Empire in the 2014-16 season (17.33 million viewers).
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with explosive ratings and has continued to grow,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “We knew we had something special when we saw the first cut of the series, and the audience’s overwhelming response confirmed it. We can’t thank Justin, the talented cast, the amazing writing and production team, and our partners at 20th Television enough for such compelling episodes. And of course, we’re incredibly grateful to the millions of viewers who tune in every week.” Hartley’s Shaw is a lone survivor who roams the country as a bounty hunter, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all sorts of mysteries while struggling with his own broken family. It’s a bit of a mystery when it comes to the death of Colter’s father and the brother whose calls he doesn’t answer. The series also stars Fiona Rene, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, and Eric Graise.
Tracker is based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver. Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, and Ben Winters serve as executive producers.
