‘Tracker’ Introduces New Ongoing Mystery and Love Interest for Colter

While Colter (Justin Hartley) is great at his job, he’s not always successful, as we learn as soon as Tracker Season 2 begins. There’s a case that’s haunted him for 10 years.

The first season begins with Colter using his skills to sneak into a house—he’s even willing to distract the dog with a steak—and snoop around (computers, things on the table, etc.). What catches his eye is a bag of dirt in the freezer. That’s when the person who lives there walks in, and Colter greets him with the cliche “Hello, Frank” from the shadows. Frank has been waiting for him to show up to harass him, and Colter says he knows what day it is.

Frank comments that breaking into his house is a new thing. Colter gets bored of the tracking and refuses to leave until they talk about Gina Picket. She disappeared 10 years ago in a mall parking lot. Frank says he had nothing to do with it, but Colter doesn’t believe him. Frank thinks he screwed things up and didn’t find out what happened to her, so now he’s been harassing him every year. Colter pins him to the refrigerator and promises to prove it was him.

At the end of the episode, Colter goes to see Camille (Floriana Lima), Gina’s sister. Yes, he went to see him, and he’s the same way. She’s had a rough few days, she says, and she knows he understands. But she suggests they talk for a while. She wants to feel something else and kisses him. Later, in bed, Colter tells her that he looked around Frank’s house, took a sample of his handwriting to compare to the letters she received, and found a bag of dirt in the freezer (Frank says he’s testing for toxins). Colter knows he’s missing something, and he’s pretty sure that one day, he’ll find it. He promised he wouldn’t stop until he found out what happened to her sister, and he won’t stop.

Elsewhere, Tracker reveals an explanation for Teddi’s absence, with Robin Weigert not returning for Season 2. Teddi is helping her mother get things sorted, and while Velma (Abby McEnany) keeps pacing back and forth, “I got in the way, you could say, and it wasn’t really good, so I came back. Don’t worry, because I’m busy.” She helps Reenie (Fiona Rene) set up her new office.
