‘Tracker’ Hunts for an Early Season 2 Renewal at CBS
“Tracker” has hunted for an early season 2 renewal at CBS, the network announced Monday.
The Justin Hartley-led drama will return for a second season in the 2024-2025 season.
Based on Jeffery Deaver’s “The Never Game” novels, the CBS drama stars Hartley as lone survivor Colter Shaw, who uses his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all sorts of mysteries, collecting rewards as he travels across the country.
“Tracker” premiered on Feb. 11 after the Super Bowl and has already reached 30 million views across linear and digital platforms, and was Paramount+’s most-watched show in February. Since its debut, “Tracker” has had nearly 16 million cross-platform viewers — making it the most-watched new series since “Young Sheldon’s” in the 2017-18 season and the most-watched new drama since “Empire” debuted in 2014-15.
The show’s fourth episode on Sunday reached 7.44 million viewers, making it the most-watched show of the night and CBS’ biggest 9 p.m. audience of the season.
“‘Tracker’ kicked off our debut week with explosive viewership and continues to build momentum,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “We knew we had something special when we saw the first cut of the series, and the overwhelming response from audiences confirmed it. We are incredibly grateful to Justin, our talented cast, our incredible writing and production teams, and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And of course, we are incredibly grateful to the millions of viewers who tune in each week.”
In addition to Hartley, “Tracker” also stars Fiona Rene, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, and Eric Graise.
Hartley serves as executive producer along with Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, and Ben Winters.
New episodes of “Tracker” will premiere Sundays at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers. For Paramount+ Essential subscribers, new episodes will be available to stream on Paramount+ the day after they air.
