“Tommy Pops the Question! Watch Her Romantic Proposal to Pastor Trevor in Exclusive 9-1-1: Lone Star Clip”

Last season of 9-1-1: Lone Star ended with a wedding, and now it looks like another one is coming our way.

In this exclusive sneak peek clip from season 5, episode 2, obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Tommy (Gina Torres) and Pastor Trevor (D.B. Woodside) are practicing a dance that goes wrong when their parents join in. But when Tommy’s twins and Trevor’s daughter leave the room, Tommy decides to give in to his spontaneous urges and propose.

The seeds for Tommy’s proposal were planted at the end of last season, when the couple admitted they were getting more serious while attending Carlos and TK’s wedding.

“They’re in a good place,” Torres told EW of Tommy and Trevor (in an interview conducted before filming for season 5). “They’re just that. And they’re so sweet and they come together in a way that supports each other. I think we’ve seen that in a couple of different episodes in [season 4]. Our relationship with our daughter and each other’s daughters…. Who we are to each other has transcended any societal or community expectations. I don’t think Tommy ever thought of himself as a preacher’s wife or girlfriend, so I think it’s been a learning curve for both of them, and they’re doing a great job with all of that.”

Finding chemistry with Woodside was easy for Torres, who also shared the screen with him on 24, Suits, and Pearson. (They also co-starred in an episode of the CBS series at one point.) “I really like D.B.,” Torres says. “He’s just a doll. He’s a good person and he’s a talented actor and he’s just… What more can I say? He’s someone you want to be around. I just feel so lucky and blessed that we were able to get him and that it worked out the way it did.”

While the preview clip doesn’t reveal Trevor’s answer, Torres teased a wedding in Lone Star’s fifth and final season when speaking to EW on the People and Entertainment Weekly Emmy live red carpet earlier this month.

“Nobody’s going to be disappointed…. I mean, they’re going to be disappointed that it’s over, but, I mean, the stakes couldn’t be higher,” she said. “There’s a wedding, so I just wanted to tease a little bit. Love is in the air. And, oh my gosh, the saves are even more epic. I think there are some of my favorite saves this season. And Tommy’s storyline is going to be intense, so stay tuned.”
