Tim Allen Is Back! The Sitcom You Loved Is Finally Coming To Netflix

A popular Tim Allen sitcom is coming to Netflix for the first time. Allen will soon be returning to the world of multi-cam comedies, as he’ll star opposite Kat Dennings in the upcoming show Shifting Gears. The story centers on Matt (played by Allen), the stubborn and widowed owner of a car restoration shop who gets to reconnect with his daughter Riley (WandaVision and 2 Broke Girls star Dennings) as well as his grandchildren when he reluctantly allows her to move back in. It will premiere on ABC on January 8 at 8 PM ET and stream the next day on Hulu.

Hailing from showrunner Michelle Nader, the cast also includes Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis, with Brenda Song in a guest role. The project has received a lot of attention thanks to Allen’s long history with family sitcoms, which goes back decades. Now, his most enduring sitcom will be making its way to Netflix in just a matter of weeks.
