The Golden Bachelor fan favorites Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles revealed that they told the Golden Bachelorette lead Joan Vassos to send her rejected suitors their way after she says goodbye to them on the show. Kathy, a 71-year-old retired educational consultant from Austin, Texas, and Susan, a 67-year-old wedding officiant from Aston, Pennsylvania, first appeared on The Golden Bachelor season 1. Although they didn’t find love with Gerry Turner, they stole Bachelor Nation’s heart. Susan and Kathy are now best friends and the co-hosts of the Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast.

“I said, ‘You can’t take ’em all. Joan, you can pick one. So think of us, think of your friends!'”

In an interview with Us Weekly, Joan and Kathy shared that they want Joan to send her Golden Bachelorette cast-offs their way. Susan revealed, “[We told her to] keep an eye out, like, ‘Joan, who did you like for us?'” Kathy explained that they gave Joan “very explicit directions” because “she knows us well.” She and Susan want Joan to pick a man for them and their Golden Bachelor co-star Nancy Hulkower. Kathy added, “I said, ‘You can’t take ’em all. Joan, you can pick one. So think of us, think of your friends!'”

Kathy Doesn’t Want A “Used To” Guy
Susan Doesn’t Want To Date A Much Younger Man

Kathy shared that she doesn’t want to date a “used to” guy, a phrase that she coined on her podcast. She explained that she doesn’t want a guy who used to play tennis or ski or boat, but now sits on the sofa. Kathy lamented, “It’s hard to find those guys who don’t wanna date younger. That’s our culture.” Susan added that she’d date a younger man, depending on the person. She said, “but probably not more than 10, 12 years younger because then you’re not even on the same page in life.”

Kathy and Susan also mentioned that they’d like to create another show with all of the “leftovers”from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette. While this sounds a lot like Bachelor in Paradise, the show doesn’t necessarily have to take place on the beaches of Mexico. This is a great idea because there are so many fabulous women from The Golden Bachelor who are still looking for love. Hopefully, Joan’s Golden Bachelorette men will be as wonderful as the Golden women as well. There’s a lot of potential for some great television with this idea, and it would be groundbreaking.

Susan and Kathy are two of the most beloved Bachelor Nation members because of their kindness, humor, wisdom, and openness. They’ve inspired so many people by proving that age is just a number. They’re active and vibrant, and they deserve to find the love that they’re searching for. They know exactly what they want in a partner. After Joan’s Golden Bachelorette season ends, Susan and Kathy would make the perfect co-Bachelorettes. While Joan might be open to sending some of her former suitors their way, Kathy and Susan should now be spotlighted in a Golden Bachelorette season of their own.
