Following the ‘Golden Bachelor’ couple’s divorce announcement on April 12 after three months of marriage, Jen Woolston said she would “hold the days we were officially family in my heart forever”
Jen Woolston, the daughter of Golden Bachelor star Theresa Nist, will always cherish her memories with former stepfather Gerry Turner.
Following news that Nist, 70, and Turner, 72, were divorcing, Woolston reflected on their marriage in a April 17 Instagram post, writing, “I had only the loveliest experiences being with Gerry and his family.”
“I will hold the days we were officially family in my heart forever, and will think of them as family always,” the mom of three captioned a photo of the blended families at Nist and Turner’s January wedding.
During the live, televised wedding ceremony, Woolston served as one of her mother’s bridesmaids. On her Instagram, she shared multiple posts from the festivities, documenting the rehearsal to the reception.
The pair were the first couple to come out of the spinoff series The Golden Bachelor, aimed at giving those in their sunset years a chance at love. The season culminated in Nist receiving Turner’s final rose on Nov. 30, 2023, and their subsequent wedding Jan. 4.
“I promise to choose you, every day, as the one I love, and never take your heart for granted,” Turner said to Nist during his vows. “I promise to shout the ‘I love yous’ by day, and whisper them softly at night. I promise to keep you safe. And I promise to make you feel comforted in difficult times and abundantly joyful in great times.”

In an April 12 interview with ABC News’ Juju Chang, the Golden Bachelor couple revealed their plans to split after only three months of marriage. Despite saying they were “100% committed to making it work,” they cited the distance as an insurmountable obstacle for their marriage.
Turner petitioned to dissolve their marriage shortly after, with the retired restaurateur living in Indiana, while Nist remained in New Jersey.
Still, Turner and Nist maintained that they will always have love for each other. “There is no doubt in my mind,” Turner said. “I root for her every day.”
Although Nist will return the ring to Turner, he added, “But you know what, we don’t have to give back the memories.”

The two told Chang that they wouldn’t give up on their search for another chance at love. Nist also encouraged “everyone else to continue to look for love.”
