Theresa Nist, the winner of the first season of “The Golden Bachelor,” has released a new look on her Instagram page.
Her marriage to “Golden Bachelor” Gerry Turner didn’t work out, but Nist is keeping a positive attitude. She debuted a lighter hair color, and fans responded warmly.
Nist is a New Jersey widow and day trader who was Turner’s final pick on the debut season of the franchise spinoff.
Theresa Nist Wrote That the New Hair Color ‘Makes Me Happy’
Nist explained her decision to go lighter in an Instagram post in March 2025.
“I started getting gray hair in my 30s. So, it’s been many years of coloring it and it’s actually darker now than it originally was,” she revealed.
“So, for a long time, I’ve been thinking about going a little bit lighter and I finally did and it makes me happy! Are you thinking of making any changes to your hair or do you love it just the way it is?!”
Earlier photos of Nist show that her brunette hair used to be darker. The post included a collage of photos showing Nist in a bronze shirt giving fans a look at her new hair color.
Since the show, Nist has also shared skincare tips on her Instagram page as well as healthy eating suggestions. “To me there is nothing better than the taste of a perfect orange or a perfect melon or a perfect peach or a perfect pear! I’ll take fruit for dessert any day!” she wrote in late February. She has also shared recipes.

Fans filled up Nist’s comment thread, offering praise for the new look.
“What color did you ask for, it’s amazing on you….” a fan asked. Nist responded, “Thank you 🩷 I asked for a warm base and golden highlights.”
“I want to show my stylist this for reference for me, lol. The cut is really nice too!” another fan wrote.
Another fan wrote, “You do you and so long as you feel good that’s all that really matters! I think it definitely brightens your face and looks very beautiful!”
Many fans share their own hair stories with Nist. “The new color Iooks great on you! I changed my hair from brown to strawberry blonde 😁” wrote one.
