Claire has dealt with a lot on The Young and the Restless. She has even more on her plate these days, if that’s even possible. Due to recent events, she could be headed for a downward spiral if she’s not careful.
Dealing With Death
Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) first appeared in Genoa City in 2023. At the time, she was keeping a watchful eye on the Newmans. Claire was groomed by her great-aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk), who had a burning hatred for the privileged family. She wanted to get revenge on them and used her niece as a pawn in her cruel game. Claire was groomed by her aunt ever since she was a child.
It was so bad that she had to undergo mental health treatment to free herself from her aunt’s claws. But it still didn’t stop that Crazy Jordan Woman from causing chaos among the residents of Genoa City. Thankfully, Jordan died last year, in the hands of her niece, of all people. Claire hasn’t even processed this loss, and now she’s about to say goodbye to her father, Cole (J. Eddie Peck).
Things are looking grim. Cole was diagnosed with Legionnaires’ Disease, and sadly, there’s no cure. Claire and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) are spending their final moments with him. In the meantime, her boyfriend is thousands of miles away without internet or cellphone service. Claire has struggled with anxiety because she doesn’t know how to process these feelings.
Too Much, Too Soon
In just two years, Claire has dealt with more than a young woman should. She lost her aunt, who was evil and groomed her. Now, her dad is dying, and she can’t reach Kyle, who could easily be seduced by Audra (Zuleyka Silver). She could be led down a dark path, but not the fun and evil kind.
Claire has been enjoying drinking, thanks to her new friend Holden (Nathan Owens). If she continues down this path with Holden, she could inherit her grandmother’s alcoholism. Claire is likely to turn to Holden when no one else is there for her, not even her rich and handsome boyfriend, who’s busy playing with Audra. After a drunken night out, Claire and Holden could wind up in bed together.
