Gordon Ramsay may run a worldwide food empire, but there’s one group of people you’ll almost never see dining in his five-star restaurants—his own kids.
And it’s not because they don’t love his cooking.
It’s because he won’t let them.
In an interview that surprised fans everywhere, Ramsay explained that he banned his children from eating at his Michelin-starred restaurants unless they could pay for it themselves.
“I don’t want them growing up spoiled,” he said. “They haven’t earned a $200 tasting menu.”
In fact, when traveling first class for family vacations, Ramsay books his children in economy. “Why should they sit in front when they haven’t worked a day in their life?” he quipped. “I worked 15-hour days to earn that seat.”
His philosophy of tough love has been a hot topic online, with fans divided over whether he’s being too harsh. But Ramsay stands firm. “I want them to value hard work. Not just expect things because Dad’s on TV.”
His kids, to their credit, seem to understand. His eldest daughter, Megan, once posted a TikTok joking about being “the only person at school whose dad yells at toast.”
And despite the strict rules, Ramsay says his family is tight-knit. “We laugh, we cook, we argue. But we love each other. That’s what matters.”
So while other celebrity kids dine on truffles and lobster, Ramsay’s children are stuck with budget meals—and that’s exactly how he wants it.
