The Rookie’s ‘Chaos Agent’ Episode: Unmasking the New Villain Threatening Lucy Chen

The Rookie season 7, episode 10’s title, “Chaos Agent,” is more than appropriate, given how chaotic the hour is from beginning to end, and among the frenzy is the evolution of a new villain who is a direct threat to Lucy. ABC’s police procedural TV series, created by Alexi Hawley, has featured numerous antagonists over the years. Some have been more impactful than others, like the unforgettable Rosalind Dyer. However, The Rookie‘s latest villain is one that no one would have suspected upon their introduction to the show.

In The Rookie season 7, episode 10, mayhem erupts at Mid-Wilshire when technical difficulties and power outages rock the station during a large prisoner transfer. Meanwhile, Nolan, Angela, and Lucy investigate the stabbing of three young girls. Unfortunately, the case comes to a tragic end when the characters learn that two of the three girls planned the attack and are the ones who actually stabbed their friend (and themselves in the process). While investigating the case, though, Lucy grows more suspicious of her rookie, Seth, and the truth behind his alleged lies finally comes out.

Seth Will Want Revenge After Getting Fired In The Rookie Season 7, Episode 10

This Won’t Be The Last Time Fans See Seth

Lucy has caught Seth in one too many lies, and his latest is the final straw. Melissa O’Neil’s Rookie character suspects that her rookie is lying about his cancer coming back in episode 10, “Chaos Agent.” After learning that Seth isn’t seeing his former oncologist and now has a shady doctor vouching for him, Lucy recruits Tim and Grey to help her confront the young police officer. Grey gives Seth an ultimatum — either submit to a blood test to prove he has cancer or get fired. Seth picks the latter, claiming he’s going to sue the LAPD for “medical discrimination.”

Seth will undoubtedly want revenge, and all his anger and blame will be directed towards the person who exposed his lies — his training officer, Lucy.

It seems as if Seth would have been fired whichever choice he made, based on his overly defensive reaction to the situation. Nevertheless, Seth’s refusal to go quietly and his looks of disbelief and desperation suggest this won’t be the last time the Rookie season 7 characters or the audience see the former rookie. Seth will undoubtedly want revenge, and all his anger and blame will be directed towards the person who exposed his lies — his training officer, Lucy.
