UK fans of The Rookie can rest easy now – the hit procedural drama has returned for season 6.
Having aired earlier this year in the US, new episodes of The Rookie are now being released weekly on Sky Witness and NOW, with the premiere episode landing on our screens tonight.
There’s set to be plenty of drama and twists in store, but actor Eric Winter (who plays Tim Bradford) has revealed that he’d love a particular storyline to rear its head in the future.
Now that we know The Rookie season 7 is officially on the cards, Winter has teased exclusively to RadioTimes.com that he’d like to explore the story of his on-screen mother.
He revealed: “Diving into his past has been so huge because it’s really explained why Tim is the way he is – and his upbringing is very different from my own, so that was very fun as an actor to also explore.”
The Rookie season 7 release date speculation
As for what’s in store in this sixth season, there will be plenty on the horizon for John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and his LAPD squad.
The show follows Fillion’s Nolan as the oldest rookie in the LAPD, who has since gone from strength to strength in his career – with Fillion opening up about what aspect of his character progression he’s enjoyed the most.
He revealed that it’s Nolan’s “willingness to leave everything behind and start again” which is one of his best characteristics.
Opening up about the legacy of the show on its 100th episode, Fillion also said: “I want it to become… not iconic, but culturally embedded. If legacy means it has to end first, I hope our legacy doesn’t come for a while yet.”
