‘The Rookie’ Adds Two New Cast Members for Season 7

The Rookie is not returning to ABC with new episodes for its seventh season until 2025, but the cop drama is currently filming and, in keeping with the title, it has added two new rookies to the roster in recurring guest roles.

First up is Deric Augustine, who has been cast as Miles. He has rookie status because he is new to the LAPD but has previously served as a police officer in Texas where he was a two-year veteran.

The second rookie is Seth, played by Patrick Keleher. Seth is described as “the ideal police officer, but the job requires quick, decisive action—something that doesn’t come naturally to Seth.”

In releasing the casting information, ABC did not reveal whether or not either of the two new rookies would be riding with John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), who, of course, is a training officer.

Augustine’s credits include his portrayal of Muhammad Ali in Godfather of Harlem and his role as Clay in All American, as well as roles in SwaggerShamelessCriminal MindsThe Vampire Diaries and Queen Sugar.
