The Golden Bachelorette: “Uptown Girl?”: Signs Joan May Have Found A NYC Love Nest With Chock (Will Living In New York Lead To A Breakup?)

The Golden Bachelorette couple Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple might have found their perfect New York City love nest, which will bring them closer together, rather than break them apart. Joan, a 61-year-old private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, and Chock, a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, got engaged at the end of The Golden Bachelorette season 1. During their final date together, Chock presented Joan with a heart-shaped keychain, and suggested that they move to New York City together after the show.

Before The Golden Bachelorette season 1 even began filming, Joan made it clear that she’d never leave her family, which consists of her four adult children, three grandchildren, her mother, and her mother-in-law, who’s her late husband John’s mom. Now that Joan and Chock are engaged, they’ve decided that they’ll keep their own homes in Maryland and Kansas, but they’ll also have a place in New York City where they can go when they want to be alone. Here’s why it seems as though they’ve found their dream home in New York City, and why it’ll make them even stronger as a couple.

Where Will Joan & Chock Live In New York City?
The Couple Might Have Found An Apartment

After apartment hunting for a few weeks after The Golden Bachelorette finale on November 13, 2024, Joan and Chock might’ve found the perfect place for them in New York City. However, Joan won’t be an “Uptown Girl,” because the apartment is in SoHo, which is in downtown New York City. In an interview with E! News, Joan explained that they think that they found a place in SoHo with the help of their realtor in New York. She sent them a video of an apartment, which Joan said looks great, so they’re hoping that their search has ended.

Joan added that inventory is very low at this time of the year, so she and Chock are keeping their fingers crossed that they get the apartment. They’ve been looking for three weeks and saw 20 places. Then, this apartment came up in SoHo, which is exactly where they want to be. Joan added that they have their families around all the time, and they’re very lucky to have that, but it will be nice for them to just be alone together in New York, with the whole city as their playground.

Joan & Chock’s New York City Apartment Will Make Their Relationship Stronger
They’ll Grow Even Closer By Spending Quality Time Together

Although some have questioned if Joan and Chock only got engaged for the show and are headed for a breakup like most other Bachelor Nation couples, their New York City apartment will strengthen their relationship. Even though they’re already engaged, they still have a lot to learn about each other, and having time alone to do that will definitely help them to stay together.

Joan and Chock’s New York City plan is a stark contrast to The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s post-show experience. They got married quickly after the show in a live, televised event called the Golden Wedding, but then got divorced just three months later because they couldn’t decide where to live because neither one of them wanted to leave their family. Gerry and Theresa’s lack of a plan destroyed their relationship.

However, Joan made it clear from the very start that she wouldn’t leave Maryland permanently, so she and Chock were able to work out a plan that allows them both to keep their homes and fulfill their obligations in their home states, while also having a place to go that’s solely theirs. They’re also not in a rush to get married, which is very smart. Joan explained that, right now, it just feels good for them to be a couple without cameras all around. She predicted that they might get married in about a year.

It’s wonderful to hear that there are signs that Joan and Chock’s dream of living in New York City is about to come true. Their SoHo apartment would be the perfect place for them to continue their love story. Hopefully, Joan and Chock will move into their New York City home soon and live happily ever after.
