‘The Golden Bachelorette’ Joan Vassos Is Ready for a “Second Second” Chance at Love

Joan Hive, this one’s for you! 🌹✨

There’s no age limit for finding love, and the inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor was more than enough proof as 72-year-old retired restaurateur and widower Gerry Turner connected with 22 stunning women. Now, one of his fan-favorite contestants, Joan Vassos, is kicking things off as the first-ever (!!!) Golden Bachelorette. As we itch for the season premiere on September 18 and scour Joan’s Insta in the meantime, ABC graciously tapped Cosmo to share an ~exclusive~ first look at the upcoming season.

In the clip above, we catch a glimpse of Joan on the opening night of The Golden Bachelorette as she dons a floor-length sparkly gold gown and effortlessly glowy glam. To no one’s surprise, she looked incredible as she first met the men competing for her love this season. 😍

“My heart is racing. It’s a scene I’ve seen so many times,” Joan says at the beginning of the clip through a voiceover. “And this time, it’s me.”

She continued, “I am greeting the next love of my life, and I’m not scared anymore. I’m ready for the journey to begin.”

ABC initially revealed the news on Instagram with a clip of Joan strutting through a hallway in a sequined gold dress with a gold rose in hand. ICYMI, she left The Golden Bachelor early to cater to a family emergency and spend time with her daughter. And now, it’s her turn to take the reins on Bachelor Nation’s latest binge-watch and have a “second, second chance” at love.
