Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple, the beloved couple from The Golden Bachelorette, are celebrating their first holiday season together as an engaged pair, embracing new traditions with their blended family.
“First Thanksgiving in Maryland with the Vassos crew and Chapple kids,” the duo shared in a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, December 2. “So much to be thankful for — family, laughter, and the start of new traditions.”
Accompanying their message were cheerful snapshots of the festivities. In one photo, Joan and Chock posed with Chock’s two children and one of Joan’s daughters. Joan is a mother of four children from her late husband, John, while Chock has two kids from his previous marriage to Heather.
Another heartwarming image captured Chock gesturing toward a row of over a dozen stockings, each personalized with a family member’s name in cursive. Joan looked on, laughing warmly at her fiancé.
Joan expressed her joy in the comments, writing, “Loved being with you guys this week! Felt so easy having the families together. Can’t wait for the next time!”
A Golden Christmas
Following Thanksgiving, the couple revealed their festive Christmas décor, complete with a special Bachelor Nation tribute. On November 30, Joan and Chock posted a close-up of a custom ornament reading “The Golden Bachelorette,” adorned with a dress and tux motif. Beneath the title were the words “Engaged 2024.”
“Our first golden Christmas… ✨🎄,” the couple captioned their post, thanking their friend for the custom piece. The hashtags #newtraditions and #thegoldenbachelorette highlighted the significance of their shared journey.
Blending Families and Building Futures
This holiday season marks the beginning of a new chapter for Joan and Chock, who got engaged during the Golden Bachelorette season finale in November. While blending their families, Chock reflected on how well their children are connecting.
“When we got engaged, my daughter asked, ‘Do I have a stepmom now?’” Chock shared in an Us Weekly interview. “She met Joan during hometowns, and they got along great. Now, they talk two or three times a week, and my daughter has bonded with Joan’s daughters as well. We’re building this blended family together.”
Dreams of a New Life in NYC
As Joan and Chock prepare for their future, they’ve shared plans to find a home in New York City, a dream for both of them.
“This first year, we need to figure out life,” Joan told Us Weekly. “Chock has a business in Kansas, and I have kids and grandkids in Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but we’ve both always dreamed of living in a big city. Specifically, New York.”
To Joan’s delight, Chock proposed the idea of finding an apartment in NYC, giving them a place to share while maintaining ties to their homes in Kansas and Maryland.
Building a Life Full of Love and Laughter
Joan and Chock’s holiday celebrations are a testament to their love and their commitment to building a life together. From shared Thanksgiving dinners to plans for a golden future in NYC, they’re embracing this new chapter surrounded by family and love.
With joy, laughter, and new traditions taking root, it’s clear that their journey together is just beginning—and it’s already off to a heartwarming start.
