Within Bachelor Nation, Gerry has quickly gone from a fan-favorite as the very first lead of The Golden Bachelor to a villain amid reports he lied about his past relationships. Making matters even worse, Gerry and Theresa announced they were divorcing after only three months of being married. The announcement stunned Bachelor Nation, especially since the perception was that a lead on a senior citizen dating show would be more mature.
In an Instagram post about attending a football game, The Golden Bachelor ‘s Gerry Turner emphasized that he met a lot of fans recently, seemingly in response to Theresa’s recent post.
Gerry’s social media posts have been far and few between lately, especially after the passing of his dog. However, he recently posted about attending a college football game at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a pastime that the Golden Bachelor star loves watching. In his post, he made sure to point out that he met “wonderful people,” presumably fans, that weekend and put an emphasis on “so many” when referring to how many he met.
In this Instagram caption, Gerry also spoke highly of Camp Randall Stadium, where the game was held, and the “beautiful” city of Madison, Wisconsin. He called the whole event a “blast” to attend. Included with the post were multiple photos, the first of which showed Gerry taking a selfie, with the football field behind him. He also posed with a statue of the football team’s mascot, the badger. Gerry then included photos of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building and the waterfront.

In her photo, Theresa could be seen with a huge smile on her face in between the two fans, who also smiled while holding beverages.
Gerry’s reputation took a giant hit after he and Theresa announced their divorce back in April 2024. The Golden Bachelor star has tried numerous times to salvage his reputation, including posting a lot of happy photos on Instagram as he lives his life with family and goes on trips with friends. If Gerry can present himself in a humble manner, that will go a long way toward starting to improve his reputation after The Golden Bachelor.
