Since making his television debut, The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner has broken more than a few hearts, and the women he hurt have a lot to say about him. Hopes were sky-high when the 72-year-old retired restaurateur was announced as the first lead of the Bachelor spin-off, which would feature baby boomers. Women all over the country heard about Gerry from their local morning shows, and they flooded the ABC casting office with applications. 22 amazing women in their 60s and 70s were selected to spend a season dating Gerry and competing for his weekly roses.

When all was said and done, Gerry chose 70-year-old day trader Theresa Nist, and the two quickly married but later divorced. On the way to meeting Theresa, Gerry dated multiple other memorable women who fell hard for the tall, attractive widower. Their hearts were subsequently broken. Since appearing on the series, Gerry has basically been a heart-breaking machine, crushing the hopes of the women who wer unlucky enough to fall for the gregarious father and grandfather. Read on to find out what those women think of Gerry since leaving The Golden Bachelor season 1.

Susan Noles Got Rejected By Gerry
She Took His Side In The Divorce

Though 67-year-old Susan Noles was rejected by Gerry, she seems to continue to like him. In fact, when he and Theresa announced their divorce, Susan sided with Gerry. Though she isn’t mad at Gerry for not giving her his final rose, she is disappointed in how The Golden Bachelor season 1 ended for her. Susan recently told People that everyone said she’d have a lot of men reaching out to her after she appeared on the series. She added that: “It does not happen.”

“I don’t know if I’m too old or I’m too big of a personality, but yeah, no.”

Theresa Nist Believed In Gerry
He May Be A Player

Gerry and Theresa had a spark from the moment she stepped out of the limousine on night one of The Golden Bachelor season 1. The septuagenarian couple hadn’t known each other for very long when they rushed into marriage, tying the knot in a lavish star-studded Golden Bachelor wedding in January. After only three short months of marriage, the couple was still living separately, and decided to call it quits. Since the split, Theresa has said very little about the experience, but she and Gerry appeared to end things on relatively amicable terms.

This wasn’t Theresa’s first marriage, as she had been married to William Nist for 42 years before he passed away in 2014. Theresa doesn’t seem to be dating anyone new, and, after being so wrong about Gerry, the grandmother of six may never let herself fall in love again. She really believed that she and Gerry would last for the rest of her life, and she’s probably shocked to realize that she was wrong. It may make it hard for Theresa to ever trust herself again, let alone let herself trust another man.

Like Theresa, Gerry also lost a spouse, having been married to Toni Turner for 43 years, until her passing in 2017.

Leslie Fhima Couldn’t Win Gerry’s Heart
He Misled Her

65-year-old Leslie Fhima was Gerry’s runner-up, receiving one of his last two roses. Though Gerry told Leslie that she was “the one”, he ended up choosing Theresa instead. He sent Leslie home with her heart in tatters.

Since the split, Leslie has focused on her family and her career as a fitness instructor.

In May, Leslie was interviewed on the podcast, Playing The Field, which aired on YouTube, and she was asked about the possibility of ever dating Gerry again. Her answer was clearly and unambiguously no. She told the interviewer that though she doesn’t hate Gerry, she refuses to be anyone’s second choice. Though it’s great that Leslie has moved on, it’s clear that she isn’t over what happened between her and The Golden Bachelor.
