The ‘Fire Country’ Universe Expands: Beloved Character Appears in ‘Sheriff Country’

After a year-long wait, Sheriff Country will finally be airing on the same night as its mothership series, Fire Country. Crossovers and cameos are common on shows set in the same universe and have been utilized before to give new shows a boost. For Sheriff Country, that boost comes in the pilot episode, which will see Fire Country star Max Thieriot make a cameo. It’s unclear what Bode and Mickey are working on, but this wouldn’t be the first time that the duo has shared scenes. Mickey made an appearance in Fire Country Season 3, Episode 18, “Dirty Money,” and she enlisted Bode in her search for her father, Wes Fox.

In Sheriff Country, Emmy Award nominee Morena Baccarin stars as Mickey Fox, a straight-shooting sheriff in the small rural town of Edgewater, California, and stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr) from Fire Country, who must balance the demands of law enforcement with the complexities of motherhood, community politics and a past that won’t stay buried. Like Fire CountrySheriff Country is a story of redemption, resilience, and the power of community. The pilot episode finds Mickey working a case that involves a minor and uncovers something even more concerning, as teased by the episode’s logline below.

“When a young boy is caught stealing food, Mickey uncovers a disturbing case of child abuse that leads to a high-stakes rescue and a cliffside standoff that could cost lives. Meanwhile, Mickey’s daughter Skye is newly sober, but her path to sobriety is complicated by her relationship with a troubled young man whom her mother arrested.”

Max Thieriot Juggles Multiple Duties in the ‘Fire Country’ and ‘Sheriff Country’ Fall Premieres

In the meantime, Bode and Station 42 will also be dealing with the fallout from the Zebel Ridge fire. “In the aftermath of the Zabel Ridge fire, Station 42 faces internal turmoil but must rally together for a high-stakes rescue that tests their strength, loyalty, and the future of the firehouse,” reads the logline for the Season 4 premiere, “Goodbye for Now.” Fire Country has one confirmed exit in the upcoming season and another one pending, so it could be several goodbyes of different natures. Sheriff Country and Fire Country are co-created by Joan RaterTony Phelan, and Thieriot. James Strong directed the season premieres of the two shows.
