The Coopers Final Dinner Scene Is Revealed In Young Sheldon Season 7 Episode 12 Clip

The Coopers are all back home for a final dinner scene in a new Young Sheldon season 7, episode 12 clip. Although Sheldon is the titular character of The Big Bang Theory prequel, it has since become an ensemble series. All his family members have their own respective arcs now, which is great for diversifying its storytelling but has recently made the Coopers’ dinner scenes infrequent.

Ahead of its airing, CBS releases a new Young Sheldon season 7, episode 12, “A New Home and a Traditional Texas Torture” clip, which shows the final dinner scene for the Coopers. Check out the video from the official Young Sheldon YouTube channel below:

The clip features the extended Cooper family sitting at the dining table for dinner. Joining George, Mary, Missy, Sheldon, and Georgie are Meemaw and Mandy. Based on the previously released Young Sheldon season 7 set image, this is confirmed to be the last time that the cast will gather together in the iconic set for the prequel.

Why The Coopers Dinner Scenes Are So Important To Young Sheldon

The Coopers Eating Dinner Are Some Of Young Sheldon‘s Best Moments.

Dinners continued to be a staple in the show, but as the kids grew and developed their own lives outside of home, it became more difficult to get all Young Sheldon characters together for a simple dinner.

Like The Big Bang Theory, dinner scenes are typical for Young Sheldon, although the Coopers have a proper table, while the Pasadena gang gathers around the living area of Apartment 4A. One of the very first scenes of the prequel featured George and Mary with their three kids all sharing a meal, which allowed for an efficient way to introduce all characters. Dinners continued to be a staple in the show, but as the kids grew and developed their own lives outside of home, it became more difficult to get all Young Sheldon characters together for a simple dinner.

Becoming rarer has highlighted their importance in Young Sheldon since it’s an easy way to converge all the plotlines. The dinners also ground the series, considering that it is a very relatable scene. In light of George’s upcoming death, seeing the expanded cast sit down for one final meal as a complete unit will be very emotional. At this point, no one from Sheldon’s family knows yet what the future holds for them. Hopefully, the scene doesn’t end in any complication, considering they are discussing a possible move for the Coopers. This would also build up to Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

New Young Sheldon detail reveals George’s final arc, and it may likely be the reason why Mary was so angry at him in The Big Bang Theory.

The writers of the CBS family comedy/drama have their work cut out to deliver a satisfying send-off for the Coopers. Not only is Young Sheldon ending on a shortened year, effectively limiting what it can do during its final season, but George’s demise also risks dominating the special one-hour finale. However, if The Big Bang Theory can end with an emotional swan song for the Pasadena gang despite an uneven final season, then it shouldn’t be that difficult to do the same for its prequel.
