The Cast Of ‘Virgin River’ Is In Vancouver To Film Season 6 & Here’s Where You Might Spot Them
Alexandra Breckenridge shared an update with Virgin River fans.
The cast of Virgin River is back in Vancouver and that means Season 6 of the Netflix show is about to begin production.
A couple of cast members have been sharing updates as they prepared to head back to B.C. in recent weeks and it looks like they have touched down in the province.
Virgin River is a popular Netflix show that follows nurse practitioner Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) who moves from L.A. to a small town in Northern California. She ends up working at a small clinic in town and falls for the local bar owner, Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson).
Season 5 premiered on Netflix in September 2023 and fans have since been waiting to hear news about Season 6. Well, the wait is finally over!
On Monday, Breckenridge shared a message with her fans on social media to let them know she’s back in Vancouver to start production on the new season.
“Hello loves, we are here in our Vancouver apartment getting ready to make some television,” Breckenridge said in her Instagram stories.
“I had a wardrobe fitting this morning for three hours. So hopefully we’ve found something to wear. I think we did […] There will be some new looks and maybe some throwback looks to last year.”
The actress added that she was in the process of unpacking boxes that had been in storage for the last year.
Her co-star Zibby Allen, who plays Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan, is also in town.
Virgin River Season 6 is set to begin production in Burnaby next week and will continue until the end of May.
That likely means the cast will be returning to several locations that have been in every season of the show like Jack’s Bar, which is the Watershed Grill in Squamish. The clinic where Mel works is the New Westminster Mansion and Mel’s cabin is located in Murdo Frazer Park.
Narcity interviewed Breckenridge back in 2022 and the actress shared that she has “been to so many beautiful places” while filming on the West Coast.
She gave a shoutout to several restaurants she loves to visit in the city like Nook, Yuwa and Savio Volpe.
For anyone who wants to see and meet Breckenridge and Allen, they’ll have the chance to do that in Vancouver on February 19.
Both actresses are set to appear at the Fan Expo at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Tickets are available on the Fan Expo website.
Virgin River also stars Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson and Ben Hollingsworth.
Seasons 1 to 5, which were also filmed in B.C., are available on Netflix.
A premiere date for Season 6 hasn’t been released by Netflix just yet.
Breckenridge often shares behind-the-scenes photos and videos on her Instagram during filming so we’re hoping she does the same thing this time around!
