The Bold and the Beautiful Set for Major Change as Show Moves Filming Locations

The Bold and the Beautiful is moving to a new filming location. Deadline reports that the CBS sudser, which has shot its episodes at Television City since it premiered in 1987, will leave that space. Television City is going to be undergoing a billion-dollar renovation and expansion that will take several years to complete.

In the meanwhile, B&B isn’t leaving Los Angeles, especially given the entertainment industry’s increased efforts to make sure production continues in California. Instead, the actors portraying the Forrester clan and their friends/allies/enemies will film at Sunset Las Palmas Studios, which is just a few miles from Television City.

Filming at Sunset Las Palmas is expected to begin Aug. 19, which is when B&B is back from its summer hiatus.

Showrunner and head writer Brad Bell said:

It’s been an extraordinary 38 years at Television City, where we have produced over 9,600 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful. As we look ahead, we’re excited to begin this next chapter at Sunset Las Palmas Studios — continuing our production in the heart of Hollywood and the great state of California.

CBS Corp. sold Television City back in 2019; the programs filming there have gradually relocated as each one’s lease has wrapped up. B&B’s lease expired this year. An insider told Deadline that B&B’s sister soap, The Young and the Restless, still has time left on its multi-year lease, so it has no plans to move filming locations at this time.
