The Big Bang Theory needs to move on from 1 character. Since the original series, there have been two spinoffs, with a third one on the way. However, the universe as a whole has a major problem.
Everything still revolves around one character, who is one-dimensional and frankly, annoying. Even in The Big Bang Theory, this one character took over every single storyline without growth, leading to a lack of growth for a couple of important members of the group.
Since then, each spinoff has continued to revolve around this one particular The Big Bang Theory character, with one show all about him. Even when he’s not in the show, he still looms over it, and it’s something Stuart Fails to Save the Universe needs to fix. Otherwise, it risks holding back the new spinoff.
The Big Bang Theory Franchise Has Revolved Around Sheldon Cooper For Too Long
At first, The Big Bang Theory was an ensemble show, allowing us the chance to get to know the entire group. Then Sheldon Cooper gained a little more popularity than the others because of his quirky ways. At first, he was fun, but then he simply took over, with everyone constantly pandering to him.
Young Sheldon continued the issue, bringing us the story of how Sheldon became the man we would eventually know. However, it was other characters that we wanted to learn more about and see how they connected with the canon already set in The Big Bang Theory.
With his constant presence felt via the genius’ worst trait in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage storyline and the reminder that he’s the reason Stuart Fails to Save the Universe gets started, it’s time for the franchise to drop Sheldon, allowing others to shine.
Other TBBT Characters Grew & Evolved Much More Than Sheldon

One of the biggest issues is the way Sheldon didn’t grow as a character. He remained one-dimensional, consistently expecting people to do what he wanted and follow his made-up rules.
At least Penny had a chance to mature and find a new dream, while Leonard gained confidence in his work and in himself. Howie stopped being the creepy man luring over women as he changed for Bernadette, and Amy learned how to communicate better, even if she was still awkward.
Raj was the most underdeveloped character, but that was often because he was forgotten about since the storylines revolved around Sheldon so much. While Sheldon thanked his friends in The Big Bang Theory series finale, it felt disingenuous due to the arguments just before it.
The Next Big Bang Theory Spinoff Has To Center On A Character Unrelated To Sheldon

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe has a chance to develop this TBBT side character, and while a TBBT spinoff about Stuart can work, it can’t escape Sheldon. It’s Sheldon’s invention that causes the issue for Stuart in the first place, so this one-dimensional character continues to loom over the franchise.
It’s time for The Big Bang Theory universe to focus on characters not connected to Sheldon. When it comes to the friendship group, Raj would be the best choice, especially considering he was so underdeveloped. Not only would it be his time to shine, but a storyline could be created that doesn’t involve Sheldon at all.
