Not long after Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre announced he would be involved with a spinoff, Lorre has clarified his previous statements regarding a new show. It was previously announced that a spinoff was in the works at Max, but it seems that reports were premature. The television legend said “Nothing’s wound up at Max…so nothing has been pitched, nothing’s been placed“. This doesn’t necessarily mean a spinoff can’t happen, but Lorre made it clear he would only do a spinoff if the story was good enough.

The Potential Stars Of The Big Bang Theory Spinoff

The show’s main characters, such as Sheldon, Amy, and Leonard, had their arcs concisely wrapped up in the final episode, so it’s unlikely that there’s enough material there to lead an entire TV show (particularly if Lorre wants his project to run for several seasons as Young Sheldon did). Therefore, it would have to focus on an area of the show that was left somewhat open-ended.

One option could be a project focused on Howard and Raj, as they’ve often been the comedic duo at the center of the show. Many fans were also dissatisfied with the way Raj’s story concluded in the show’s finale, as he was robbed of the happy ending that he’d always been searching for. Making him the protagonist of the spinoff could offer him an opportunity to find his person, doing justice to his character, and providing plenty of laughs along the way.
