The writing team and two actors Kunal Nayyar (playing Raj Koothrappali) and Mayim Bialik (playing Amy Farrah Fowler) appeared at Comic-Con this Friday and brought interesting details about The Big Bang Theory to the audience. Specifically, the show will enter season 9 with a full cast that has signed on until season 10.
The show temporarily ended in season 7 with a series of frustrating issues for viewers. Amy (Bialik) broke up with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) even though he was planning to propose to her. Meanwhile, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) canceled their honeymoon in Las Vegas when he confessed to kissing another woman. For Raj (Nayyar), it’s a shame he couldn’t break the ice with his girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer) and tell her how much he loves her. Newlyweds Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and Howard (Simon Helberg) are adjusting to life in their great-grandmother Wolowitz’s house and trying to get rid of comic book store owner Stuart (Kevin Sussman), a troublesome freeloader.
Since the show focuses on details representing American culture, the plot of the show hasn’t changed much. After season 8, with everything remaining almost the same, in an interview, actress Mayim Bialik revealed a bit about the ending of season 7: “We don’t really know the story of that ring. We don’t know what Sheldon wants to do with it, whether he got it from his mother and was going to put it on Amy’s finger or not?”
The actress also urged viewers not to try to speculate and paint a future for Amy and Sheldon. “Anything can happen in this relationship and I think it’s best to wait and see when the season 9 premiere comes out.”
In addition, the producers provided a few more details about what happens when the season 9 premiere airs on September 21. First, Amy has a cool uncle who will appear in the show. Additionally, The Bigbang Theory has the rights to use a clip from the upcoming Ghostbusters movie.
