The Big Bang Theory universe is about to get even bigger — but creator Chuck Lorre knows the latest addition could be polarizing.
The upcoming series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will center on Stuart Bloom, the often unlucky comic-book store owner introduced during the original show. While Stuart grew into a fan-favorite character over time, Lorre admits building a series around him is far from a guaranteed success.
Speaking about the project, the legendary sitcom producer said the show represents a “big swing” creatively. In fact, he believes viewers will have a strong reaction one way or the other.
“It’ll either be revered or reviled,” Lorre admitted, suggesting the new spinoff could spark debate among longtime fans of the franchise.
