For Kunal Nayyar, fame and fortune come with a surprising nighttime routine.
The “Big Bang Theory” actor recently revealed that he likes to scroll through GoFundMe campaigns and secretly pay off medical bills for families in need.
Speaking with The i Paper, Nayyar described the habit as his own version of a superhero mission.
“That’s my masked vigilante thing,” he said. “Money has given me greater freedom, and the greatest gift is the ability to give back.”
After starring as Raj Koothrappali for all 12 seasons of the beloved CBS sitcom, Nayyar became one of television’s top-paid actors. By the show’s later seasons, the main cast reportedly earned $1 million per episode, helping the actor build an estimated $45 million fortune.
But according to Nayyar, wealth isn’t something that weighs heavily on him. Instead, he sees it as an opportunity — one that allows him to support animal charities and quietly help families struggling with expensive medical care.
“It feels like a grace from the universe,” he said.
